Ann Frank whose full name is Annelise Marie Frank, was born in the 12th of June in 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany.
Her family, who were jewish moved to The Netherlands in 1933, when the Nazis came to power in Germany.
Her father, Otto Frank, who was a business man, started a business in Amsterdam.
Nazis who invaded The Netherlands in 1940, started to take jewish people to labour camps.
In 1942, the family decided to hide from Nazis in the attic of Otto's office.
While she was hidden Ann wrote in her diary, which she recived as a present for her 13th birthday, about life in the attic.
Nazis discovered the family in 1944, when somebody betrayed them, and they took them to a labour camp.
Ann and her sister, who were ill, died in March of 1945.
A few weeks later, the British forces liberated the camp.
Her father, who survived, returned to the hidding place and found the diary, which Ann hide.
The diary, which was published in 1947, was translated into different languages.
